 One day two friends set forth on a journey. They were travelling to another city for which they needed to cross the jungle . The jungle was said to be inhabited by dangerous wild beasts. The journey went off smoothly until they entered the forest area. As the men continued to walk though the jungle , they came across smaller animals like rabbits, snake, squirrel and other similar ones. They were happy as they had nearly covered the jungle without facing much danger. But, Before they could move out of the jungle safely, worst fear came true. They heard the howls of a wild bear! The very sound of the animals scared the friends. Before they could think of any safety measure, the wild bear was in front of them., ready to pounce. The very sight of the bear made one of the men quickly climb up the tree, thus making himself safe from the attack of the wild bear. The other men could not climb up the tree and was left alone.                  A clever jackal once made his home in a cave in the jungle. Everyday, he would leave the cave at sun rise in search of food, and returned at sun set.In the same forest, there lived a lion. He had grown very old and could no longer run fast. Enough to catch his prey. He often went hungry because of this. "I feel so weak and hungry". He thought," I wish I could catch some animal today." One day he saw a lame deer and ran after it but the lame deer run faster then he did, and escaped. The lion was very upset. He thought, " How old have I become! Now , I cannot catch even a lame deer."               As the lion wandered in search of prey , he came upon the jackal's cave. It was empty, for the jackal  had gone out to hunt. The lion was sure that some animal lived there. He had an idea." I will hide inside" he thought,"and will pounce on the animal once it enters the cave"...

  Once there lived a tortoise in a lake. He swam about in the water and sometimes came out to sit on the banks of lake. A hare also lived nearby. He ran here and there and often went to the lake to drink water. One fine day, when the hare went to the lake , he saw the tortoise coming out of the water. Looking at the how slowly tortoise coming out of the water, the hare laughed out loudly and said," Poor tortoise! you do not even know how to walk. You are so slow".                        The hare was very boastful . He bragged about what a fast and swift runner he was. He ridiculed the poor tortoise for his slow pace. tired of listening to all the brags, the tortoise challenged the hare to a race. This made the hare laugh again .
